I'm back from the coast of GA...
And we had a great time. The only downer was that the cold weather followed us. Mind you, it wasn't as cold as the weather we left, but it was colder than the norm for coastal Georgia. No matter. It did not stop us from venturing out and having an outstanding time. We learned a bit about the area. What great historical and educational things are available, what hotels are great, which ones suck (yes, we stayed in crappy one and promptly checked out the next morning), where the great out of the way restaurants are and where the good housing areas are and are not. It was an interesting and fun filled trip. Because we learned so much about the area, we will likely never get stationed there though. :) Isn't that the way it works?
The boys were able to swim and swim and swim. They were so very happy. They saw new types of landscape, trees and animals. They were thrilled.
We came home to snow. Yesterday morning we were swimming, today we are sledding. Ain't life wonderful?
The best part, we get to make this trip once a month for the next several months and I am happy about it. Woot! We vowed that this year, we are not going to let so many TDYs separate our family - we are going to pack up and go with, whenever possible and whenever it is affordable. With deployments behind us and ahead of us, we are going to spend as much time together as a family this year, as we possibly can.
