I vow....
That I will NOT watch any television or internet political ads during the 2010 election year. They are generally nasty and I refuse to fork over any of my valuable time to watching political ads.
I will instead rely upon my ability to do research and decide for myself. The ads never sway me anyway, they simply make my blood pressure go up and make me question the honesty and integrity (mostly the lack thereof) of all involved.
How will I avoid the ads? The same way that I do now - it is called the mute button, changing the channel or fast forwarding through commercials when using my DVR.

I'm not sure how I came across your blog, but I just felt like commenting that if this was Facebook I would "like" your post a lot :)
Political television spots (regardless of the political party endorsing it) are mostly in poor taste and targeted towards the kind of viewer who doesn't want to do their own research on the facts of an issue. Hooray for the mute button -- or in my case the fact I don't have a television...
The more effort a candidate devotes to informing you how evil his opponent is, the less he wants to talk about his own aganda.
Negative ads say a lot more about the candidate placing the ad than they do about the other guy.
Besides...do you really care if your senator smoked pot in college in 1980 or plagarized a high school paper?
